Spring Challenge Chosen by Popular Demand

Thank you to everyone that answered our survey as to where we should go on our Spring challenge.  By popular demand, we will be traversing our own Vermont Mountain Peaks.  The title of the challenge was also chosen through survey submissions and we combined the choices of two state employees Julie Moore from Waterbury and Mike Bertrand from Montpelier, to come up with "The Hills are Alive with Vermonters Walking."

Thanks for the Motivation
This is a great program! It really helps me stay motivated.  I love to be able to get outside, but used to feel guilty when I went for walks.  Now I just say I am part of the walking program at work and need to take my walk and log my time. Thanks to everyone in BGS-Security that participated.

A New Knee Makes the Difference!
Last October I had a total knee replacement after two years of extreme pain and not being able to walk like I used to.  This year I did the Corporate Challenge and finished.  It took me 1 hour and 14 minutes to do.  The doctors were not sure if I would be able to finish and made me promise if the knees started to hurt, I was to quit.  I now have a new enjoyment for the beauty of the outdoors.

Great Teamwork!
As with most years I am the coordinator for our area. This year I was out unexpectedly for two weeks. While I was out one person stepped in and encouraged coworkers to get moving! I would like to say my many thanks to Fitore for encouraging her coworkers to keep moving. To all of the rest of our team...great work as well for your exercise efforts!

Sincerely,
Robin  from BGS NW Region
Using This Site to Record Exercise!

I only record miles earned during planned exercise, not daily steps, and with that, I  strive for 15-17 miles weekly.

This website helps to keep me moving!!

Winner, Winner!
Congratulations to Michelle Dion of AOT National Life.  She won the raffle for the second time in this 13 week challenge.  Kudos, as well, to Bob Laughlin from DMV in Montpelier.  He was one of the winners of the final Tropical Trek raffle.
Say "No" to Tech Bum
Starting a little late but better than never... I am bound and determined not to get the proverbial "Tech Bum" that tends to settle in when you spend 9-10 hours a day in a cubical.  I am looking forward to the warm summer days!  Watch out lead group, I'm 83 and climbing!<grin>
