We all know how tough it can be sometimes to work towards a goal that seems so far away, and may take a little longer than we would like in order to achieve.  A person's health and wellness is one of the most important aspects of a person's life.  It effects not only themselves, but all those around them, whether it be their family, friends, or co-workers.  Taking time to improve your health and well being is the most important gift you can give yourself and those who care about you.

A first step -- a long way to go
I went from 273 to 240 between the first week of Jun and the 4 week of August.

My total cholesterol dropped from 260 to 177.

My A1C (diabetes) marker went from 6.9 to 5.9.

I still have 80 or 90 more lbs I would like to lose but I really do FEEL better.

My main motivation at this point is to control Type 2 Diabetes (I don't want to spend my retirement going blind, having strokes or losing appendages).  Thinking about stuff like that tends to focus the mind.

The main short term benefit is that my acid reflux/heartburn has simply vanished.  Poof!
Cutting out most carbs, cheese, eggs and fried stuff really makes a difference.

New Beginnings
I am starting a new beginning as of today to live healthier. I have been ravaged with unpredictable pain and sleeplessness for years. I have little energy and less time to do what I need to do. I have made a promise to my self that I will do what is best for me....The doctor states I should be between 135-150lbs. Personally I think I will look bad (sickly) at that weight. But i will try to get there the healthy way walking exercise and eating healthy. My team name is Just trying to be Healthy. Doing more for me
I am glad that I have decided to do more for myself I am a busy mother/grandmother artist/singer.  I am busy.. but I am going to up my exersice program.. My son-in-law and I have taken up training with former boxer and he pushed us to work. I can't wait till the next session.  How far I will go with this I don't know? but I feel I am going in the right direction for me because I have gotten lazy over the years using every excuse in the book. NO more.. and he seems like the kind of trainer I've been looking for whip me back into shape.
